Backyard Bible

A Nature’s Lamp Education Tool
Exploring Theme 1: God’s Word through nature

Goal: Backyard Bible helps participants recognize that Christ is here and now. It helps in displacing that subtle tendency for Christians and non-Christians to see the God of the Biblical stories as a God from a far-away land and historical times. Seeing things of God’s creation that surround us in our everyday lives inserted into Biblical passages can help to erase such modern-life gaps in spiritual confidence.

Participant requirements: this activity is adaptable to any age group. Familiarity with the Bible is helpful but not required.

Group Size: Small to medium groups: It is helpful to have one participant per word in the chosen Bible passages. Large groups would find this activity too cumbersome

The Constant

The Constant is a blueprint for an experience, a composition-performance-activity-catalyst commissioned by John Roberts exploring the Creation account in Genesis 1. It is a set of cards that, when used by a group of willing participants will bring out their talents and result in something new, a creation that tells something unique about the group itself.
