Mark 1:3-6

3 “a voice of one calling in the desert, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’ ” 4And so John came, baptizing in the desert region and preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. 5The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River. 6 John wore clothing made of camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey.

Mark 1:8

8 I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."

Mark 1:10-13

10As Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. 11 And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” 12 At once the Spirit sent him out into the desert, 13 and he was in the desert forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and angels attended him.

Mark 1:16

16 As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.

Mark 1:28

28 News about him spread quickly over the whole region of Galilee.

Mark 1:32

32 That evening after sunset the people brought to Jesus all the sick and demon-possessed.

Mark 1:34-35

34 and Jesus healed many who had various diseases. He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak because they knew who he was. 35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

Mark 1:40

40 A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.”

Mark 1:42

42 Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured.
